In a significant update for schools across India, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has once again reopened the link for the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for students appearing in the CBSE 10th and 12th Board Examinations in 2026.
This extension serves as the last reminder for schools that have not yet completed the required LOC submission process. The portal, available at cbse.gov.in, has been reopened specifically for submissions made with a late fee.
The Strict New Deadline
The window for LOC submission closed initially on September 30, 2025, for payments made without a late fee (via Internet Banking/UPI/ Debit Card/Credit Card/NEFT/RTGS/etc.), and on September 22, 2025, for payments made via Challan (without late fees).
The revised schedule for submitting the LOC with the late fee is highly time-bound and varies based on the method of payment:
| Mode of Payment | Schedule with Late Fee |
| Payment through a Challan | October 3 to October 8, 2025 |
| All modes of payment of fees except the Challan (e.g., Internet Banking/UPI/Debit Card/Credit Card) | October 3 to October 11, 2025 |
All modes of payment, except Challan, will remain open until October 11, 2025.
Why This is the Final Extension
The official notification stresses the urgency of this submission period. According to CBSE, they had already issued a total of 08 reminders/communications to facilitate schools before this link was reopened. Despite these repeated efforts and ample time provided, many schools had still not submitted their LOCs within the prescribed original schedule.
Crucially, the board has stated clearly that no further extension will be provided for schools to submit the LOC for the 2026 board exams.
Non-Compliance Risks Candidate Ineligibility
School principals are strictly required to submit the LOC within this prescribed time frame, along with the late fee. The portal for submission will be closed exactly as per the extended schedule provided, and no submissions will be accepted after these dates.
The consequences of failing to meet this final deadline are severe: schools that fail to submit the LOC by the given cut-off will bear full responsibility for the non-compliance. This non-compliance and the resulting consequences may include the ineligibility of candidates to appear for the CBSE Board Exam 2026.
