CBSE 2026 Board Exam Dates Announced: Check Your Timetable Here!
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the detailed examination schedule for the Class 10 and 12 Board Exams for 2026. In a move that gives students ample time to prepare, the board has announced the timetable approximately five months, or 146 days, before the exams are set to begin.
An estimated 45 lakh candidates are expected to appear for examinations in 204 subjects across both classes. These exams will be held not only in affiliated schools across India but also in 26 other countries.
Key Examination Dates and Times
According to the schedule, both Class 10 and Class 12 exams will commence on Tuesday, 17th February 2026.
- Class 10 (Secondary School Examination) exams will run from 17th February 2026 to 18th March 2026.
- Class 12 (Senior School Certificate Examination) exams are scheduled from 17th February 2026 to 4th April 2026.
All papers for both classes will be conducted in a single shift, starting at 10:30 am.
It is important for students to note that the CBSE has clarified this is a tentative schedule and may be revised if necessary.
Class 10 Key Subject Dates
Here are the dates for some of the main subjects for the Class 10 board exams:
- Mathematics (Standard & Basic): Tuesday, 17th February 2026
- English (Communicative / Language & Literature): Saturday, 21st February 2026
- Science: Wednesday, 25th February 2026
- Hindi (Course A & B): Monday, 2nd March 2026
- Social Science: Saturday, 7th March 2026
Class 12 Key Subject Dates
For students in Class 12, here are the dates for some of the core subjects:
- Physics: Friday, 20th February 2026
- Business Studies: Saturday, 21st February 2026
- Chemistry: Saturday, 28th February 2026
- Mathematics / Applied Mathematics: Monday, 9th March 2026
- English (Elective & Core): Thursday, 12th March 2026
- Economics: Wednesday, 18th March 2026
- Biology: Thursday, 27th March 2026
- Accountancy: Saturday, 28th March 2026
- History: Monday, 30th March 2026
- Sociology: Saturday, 4th April 2026
Evaluation Process
The board has also provided a general guideline for the evaluation of answer scripts. The process is expected to begin approximately 10 days after an exam is conducted and will be completed within 12 days. For example, the evaluation for the Class 12 Physics paper (held on 20th February) would likely start around 3rd March and finish by 15th March 2026.
